For applications requiring a bit more storage or customizable logic in a small board than will fit in the MityDSP, the MityDSP-XM provides increased FLASH and SDRAM memory as well as a larger  Xilinx FPGA. The MityDSP-XM increases the FLASH from 2MB to 16MB, SDRAM from 8MB to 32MB, and uses a Xilinx FPGA with approximately 2.5 times more resources than the standard MityDSP. Like the MityDSP, the MityDSP-XM contains the TI TMS320C6711 Digital Signal Processor (DSP). The MityDSP-XM som DSP board also conveniently offers applications such as industrial embedded instrumentation.

The MityDSP-XM is plug compatible with the MityDSP, as a result you can begin your application on the MityDSP with the comfort of knowing that if your application or processing requirements grow significantly you can seamlessly move up to the MityDSP-XM computer on module board.

Need to work with a complete off the shelf solution? The MityDSP Development Kit is compatible with either the MityDSP or MityDSP-XM DSP/FPGA boards.

See the comparison table of CPU Engines for a details on the specific differences between the MityDSP and the MityDSP-XM system on modules (som).
